Corvette Performance Driving School – What You Need To Know About Spring Mountain Motor Resort
I recently attended the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School located at the Spring Mountain Motor Resort in Pahrump, Nevada. I’ll cut to the chase and say that it was a noteworthy experience.
This is not my first visit to this racing inspired resort. In 2015 I was considering the purchase of a Corvette and attended the one-on-one version of this class that allowed me a full day of driving and personalized instruction with both a Stingray and a Z06. While I didn’t purchase a Corvette until four years later I recently attended the Corvette Owners Group Class at Spring Mountain.
The enticement to take this trip was a special offer that GM gives to new Corvette owners where they pick up two-thirds of the admission price for a two-day group class. This brought the total price to $1,000 and included a stay at the condos that are conveniently located on the property. While the one-on-one class I attended in 2015 was a remarkable experience, allow me to say that I preferred the structured format of the two-day group class as it allowed the students to interact with multiple instructors while still providing plenty of track time.
Since I was a return visitor and a known entity to the management, prior to embarking to Spring Mountain, I arranged for an on-camera interview with Rick Malone, the Chief Driving Instructor and Driving School Director of the Spring Mountain Motor Resort.
The topics discussed in this video range from the basics of what you need to know about the Ron Fellows Performance Driving Class as well as the details of the services and amenities available at this top tier resort. Of course, we discuss the newly revealed 2020 C8 Corvette!
