DJI Drops Price On Phantom 3 Pro Models In Advance Of Rumored Phantom 4

In advance to the rumored March 1st announcement of the (speculated) Phantom 4, DJI has announced a price adjustment of its Phantom 3 Professional copter and lowered the entry level P3P model to $1,000. Yeah, the actual promotional price states $999, but I don’t like typing all those 9’s and we all know that’s only $1 less than $1,000. I’m not picking on DJI as that’s been one of my pet peeves for many decades where I’ll guess that somewhere in the past a highly paid psychologist felt that having something priced with a $99 will make us more likely to purchase than if it was priced at $100.

Please note this price is for the Phantom 3 Professional model that includes a single battery. If you want the two battery version, the new price is $1,079 and if you want the model with two batteries and hardshell carrying case, the price is $1,297 and $1,339 for the backpack carrying case. The current P3 lineup pricing is pictured below.

Personally, I don’t feel that it’s wise to purchase a new copter with only one battery. So if you feel this is the copter for you, then go with the two battery package. And, if you’re flying anywhere other than your backyard, you’ll most likely need a case…so you might want to take that into consideration as well.
