Could The George Foreman Evolve Grill Be A Great Addition To A Motorhome?
Any motorhome owner knows there’s a delicate balance of having the right assortment of conveniences onboard while managing storage space.
While my 2014 Marathon Prevost features a built-in BBQ grill, when preparing smaller meals, using the large grill can be time consuming. There’s the warmup time, the cooking time and then, there’s the inevitable cleanup time. There’s also the power management issue as larger appliances can consume quite a bit of the available amperage. If you have multiple air conditioning units operating, it’s probably best to shed some of the load prior to firing up the large electric grill.
Is This The Ultimate Portable Electric BBQ Grill?
With those factors in mind, I set out on a search for the ultimate portable grill that’s simple to use, easy to clean and stores compactly when not in use. My solution was the George Forman Evolve Grill System. Yes, this is more than just a grill as the model I purchased included a baking dish and a muffin pan and features an adjustable cooking angle level that allows it to be set to a flat position for making grilled sandwiches or paninis or can be angled to allow the fat from meats to drain away into its drip pan.
This model incorporates a digital control panel that allows for easy setting of time and temperature settings from 325- to 450-degrees as well as a sear button that temporarily raises the temperature to 500-degress before dropping it to 350-degrees for the balance of the cooking time.
I find this product to be a good value and a desirable appliance to carry on a motorhome. I have no hesitancy in recommending this for in home or for motorhome use.
In terms of cleaning it features ceramic coated upper and lower cooking surfaces that make cleaning after usage a breeze. The plates remove for cleaning and they are dishwasher safe.
For my test, I wanted to try it by cooking frozen hamburgers as this is something that typical BBQ grills often deliver mixed results. In the video, you’ll see the results of the test.
The Bottom Line
I found this product to deliver what was promised and performed to expectations. Considering the affordable purchase price, I find this product to be a good value and a desirable appliance to carry on a motorhome. I have no hesitancy in recommending this for in home or for motorhome use.
I purchased the George Foreman Evolve Grill System from Amazon and while it retails for $120, at the time of this post it was on sale for $64 and is Prime eligible. Click Here For The Amazon Link.
The Allen Brothers burgers were a gift and while the vacuum packaging was a bit of a struggle to open and not as easy as the frozen burgers I’ve purchased from Omaha Steaks in the past, the flavor was noteworthy.
