Is The Yuneec SteadyGrip GoPro A Viable Alternative To The DJI OSMO?

With DJI announcing its highly anticipated OSMO handheld gimbal solution, I thought it would be an opportune time to take a look at Yuneec’s SteadyGrip. Of course, since it hasn’t shipped yet, nobody has done extensive hands-on tests of the OSMO, but I’ve had the opportunity to spend quite a bit of time with Yuneec’s SteadyGrip. So, here goes…

While Yuneec has had this model on the market for a few months, this model can be purchased separately as well as is included with the Typhoon G quad copter. It’s Yuneec’s first handheld stabilizer that is compatible with GoPro’s Hero 4 cameras.

Purchased separately, without the camera, it retails for $150 and I’ll let you be the judge whether or not this is a good value and nice tool to have for capturing smooth videos while on the ground.
